The need to speak, even if one has nothing to say, becomes more pressing when one has nothing to say, just as the will to live becomes more urgent when life has lost its meaning.
— Jean Baudrillard, The Ecstasy of Communication
It's a Job is a group show featuring work examining the influencer economy, in particular the manifestation of image as reality, and vice versa. What does it mean for our bodies to act out currency through image, and to become infinite? What are the secrets that remain during the process of trying to render one’s experiences infinitely visible?
The following pages posit four topics in relation to each other and to the works on view.
1. Subject/Object Fusion
2. The Johari Window
3. Baudrillard's Fractal Subject
4. Toxic Positivity
